Eli is the son of Francis and Cecile Seguin. He married Eleneor Lauzon on 19 Jan 1849 in Assumption Church. For twelve years Eloi carried the mail by horse back between the out posts of Chatham and Amhersburg and after he retired from that job he went on to farming. He was one of the first white settlers in the town of Assumption where he built a log cabin. His cause of death was listed as liver trouble.
