Isaac Robb, sr., 79, a veteran of the Civil war, who was wounded twice in battle, died at 11 o'clock Friday night in his home at 121 Williams street. He had been in failing health since last spring with brights disease and complications, but was about the house as usual on Friday morning, suddenly collapsing after doing the morning work about his place. He was born in Champlain, N. Y., Jan. 20, 1847, a son of John and Maria (McKenzie) Robb. Soon after his birth the family moved to Troy, N. Y. On Oct. 8, 1866, he married Clara S. Matthews of Albany, N. Y., who survives. She was a daughter of Capt. William H. and Catherine (Sheffield) Matthews, and her great-grandfather was General Slater, prominent in the War of 1812. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Robb, seven of whom survive: Judge Charles H. Robb of the court of appeals for the District of Columbia, at Washington, D. C.; Dr. William M. Robb of Boston; Mrs. George Root of Waltham, Mass.; Frank E. Robb of Pasadena, Calif.;...Read MORE...
