CARBONDALE, Jan 2 - Miss Gladys E. Merritt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Merritt, of Brook street, and Myell J. Hadsell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Hadsell, of Chestnut avenue, were united in marriage Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock in the Presbyterian manse on North Church street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Charles Lee, D. D.

Miss Ruth E. Tompson was bridesmaid and Stanley Merritt, a brother of the bride, acted as best man. Both the bride and her maid were gowned in blue silk. Mr. and Mrs. Hadsell will reside on Brook street.

Myrell Hadsell Fatally Stricken

Myrell J. Hadsell, 135 Belmont St., Carbondale, died Monday at home unexpectedly. Born in Union Dale, Clifford Twp., son of the late Everett J. and Jennie Westgate Hadsell, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Carbondale. A member of the Carpenters Local 261, he was employed as a carpenter by Hadsell Contractors, Carbondale, prior to his retirement 10 years ago. Surviving are his widow, the former Gladys Merritt; a son, Dwayne Niles, College Park, Md.; a daughter, Mrs. Lois J. Tell, Aberdeen, Md.; a brother, Henry A., Carbondale; a sister, Mrs. Jean Swan, Carbondale; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. from the Oliver R. Shifler Funeral Home, 94 N. Main St., Carbondale, with Rev. Charles J. Starzer, First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment, Willow View Cemetery, Clifford. Friends may call Thursday 2 to 4, 7 to 9 p.m.
