Andrew Race of Auburn, a well-known auctioneer and horseman hung himself in his barn Tuesday morning. Ill health and financial troubles are said to have been the cause of the suicide.

Terminated his life by suicide Tuesday morning
About 11 A.M. Tuesday morning Andrew Race, the well known horseman and auctioneer, was found hanging from a rafter in the barn, in the rear of his residence, 34 Lincoln street, by his wife. As soon as Mrs. Race recovered from the shock, she called for assistance and Smith Perkins, a painter, at work next door, answered her call and immediately cut the rope. Life was already extinct, and the remains were cold in death.
