Jeremiah Moulton Mace, Baptist, son of Jonathan and Dorothy (Moulton) Mace, was born July 30, 1804. Studied for the ministry at Charlestown, Mass., and Thomaston, Me. Ordained, Montville, Me., Sept. 26, 1840, and pastor, 1840-2; Dexter, Me., 1842-9; Lawrence, Mass., 1849-54 ; Londonderry and Reed's Ferry, 1854-5. Teacher, Reform School, Boston, Mass., 1856. Supplied seven years Carver, Halifax, Pocasset and Hanover, Mass., with residence Middleborough, Mass. Afterwards settled, Colebrook, Ct., Florida, Mass., and Dummerston, Vt. Member of the Christian Commission and later missionary Washington and vicinity ; then agent of the Freedmen's Institution, Washington, D. C. Pastor, Cape Neddick, Me., and Rohoboth, Mass. On a farm, Plympton, Mass., 1873-85. Died, Plymouth, Mass., Jan. 9, 1885. Married Sarah A. Pitman of Portsmouth, Dec. 12, 1833.
