Mrs. Louise Frances Crane, Mother of Ex-U.S. Senator, Dies in Dalton Home:

Mrs. Louise Frances Crane, aged 86 years, widow of Z. Marshall Crane, died yesterday afternoon at her residence in Craneville, Dalton. Death was due to physical causes incident to old age. Up to within a week Mrs. Crane had been well and active as for some time past.

Mrs. Crane was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Winthrop Laflin of Lee. Her father had been a paper maker in Saugerties, N.Y., who moved to Lee to engage in the paper manufacturing in that town. Mrs. Crane was born on July 1, 1830 in the house which was later the home of Augustus Smith in Lee. Z. Marshall Crane had married her elder sister, by whom he had two children, Zenas Crane of Dalton and Mrs. George T. Plunkett of Hinsdale. The first Mrs. Crane died and Mr. Crane's second marriage was to her sister. The marriage took place in Suffield, Conn., in 1850, and Mrs. Crane went immediately to Dalton to live...Read MORE...
