The War of 1812 was a conflict between the United States and Great Britain, lasting from 1812 to 1815. Daniel Webster's Widow
A New York dispatch says: last evening at the Leroy mansion, New Rochelle, just above New York died Caroline Webster, the widow of Daniel Webster. The stately old lady had been seriously ill only about a fortnight, although she had been gradually failing for a year from advancing years. She was confined to her bed by an attack of rheumatic fever, which soon developed into pneumonia. As there was every indication that it was to be the venerable lady's last sickness her physicians notified her surviving relatives and they came to the old fashioned mansion.
The patient's death was perfectly painless and it seemed to those who passed the last hour at her bedside rather as if she had fallen asleep than died. At the bedside were the brothers of the deceased lady, Daniel Leroy and William Henry Leroy; Mrs. Jacob Leroy, her sister in law and Mr. Robert Edgar. The funeral will take place Wednesday morning from Trinity Church, New...Read MORE...
