Gillett, this two-story house was reconstructed in Staten Island in 1931, when the buildings in the Swift River Valley were moved or razed to allow for the creation of the Quabbin Reservoir in western Massachusetts... The over-200-mile move is testament to the deep interest in colonial and early American history at the time, and the perceived value of its architecture..." www.nyc.gov
