Cyrenus Wheeler, one of the best known and highly esteemed citizens of the county, and father of Mayor Wheeler of Auburn, died at his home in Poplar Ridge, Monday afternoon, aged 96 years.
Death of Cyrenus Wheeler - At the ripe age of 95 years, which a month and a few days would have made into 96, Cyrenus Wheeler, father of Hon. Cyrenus Wheeler, Jr., of this city, died yesterday. Mr. Wheeler had been a resident of Poplar Ridge, where he died, for over fifty years, removing there from Fall River, Mass., where he had been engaged in building cotton machinery and making cotton cloth. He was highly esteemed by all his neighbors and friends.
