"The woman who would be the wife of Pierre Maguet and the ancestress of the Maille descendants was born to a family very deeply-rooted in Canada. Catherin Perthuis was baptized at the church of Notre-Dame de Montreal, on 23 January 1670. Her father Pierre Perthuis dit Lalime, had been one of the famous Carignan Regiment. Her mother, Claude Damise, born at Saint-Nicolas-du-Chandonnet of Paris, came to New France because she was protected by the king. Catherine Perthuis, together with Pierre, signed the official document."

Birth
'...Austin Maguet and Francoise Goubilleau were married about 1660 at Chaumont, parish of Saint-Agnan... One day the Goubilleau-Maguet couple went to Paris, parish of Saint-Paul, where Pirere Maguet would have been baptized about 1663. Augustin died on a date unknown to us, but certainly before 1670. Francoise Goubilleau decided to leave Paris and rebuild her life in New France. She crossed the Atlantic with her son Pierre Maguet... Francoise was about 40 years old when she met Paul Dauze, son of Paul and of Anne Luenot, from Loudun, in Poitou... Paul and Francoise signed a marriage contract in the presence of the notary Benigne Basset, on 12 April 1671. The future groom promised to protect the young Pierre Maguet as his own child. The nuptial blessing was given by the Sulpicien Gilles Perot, on the following 15 April, at the church of Notre-Dame de Montreal.'

1725 Death
'On 6 June 1725, the militia captain of Riviere-des-Prairies decided to render his accounts on the other side of the river of life. He was buried the next day. Appearing in the registry, before the signature of the Sulpicien Francois Julien, were the names of Jacques Desnoyers, Simon ALlard, Michel Lauzon and Charles-Paul Dauze. Pierre Maguet had served his country, his parish and his family well. He deserved his reward.'
