Joseph  married  Angelique VANDAL 5 October 1767 in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Province of Québec, Canada .  Angelique VANDAL  was born 21 November 1750 in Donnacona, Québec, Canada (Saint-Jean-Baptiste-des-Écureuils) (Les Ecureuils).  Angelique died 28 October 1770 in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada.  Angelique was the child of Jean-Baptiste-Mathieu VANDAL and Angélique AUGER.

Joseph  married  (2) Suzanne ROCH (LAROCQUE) 7 January 1772 in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Province of Québec, Canada .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Suzanne ROCH (LAROCQUE)  was born 28 October 1753 in Varennes, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Anne-de-Varennes).  Suzanne died 14 December 1814 in Saint-Ours, Québec, Canada (Immaculée-Conception).  Suzanne was the child of Andre COUILLARD dit LAROCQUE and Suzanne CELLE (DECELLES) dite DUCLOS.

Joseph PHANEUF died 28 November 1833 in Saint-Jude, Lower Canada.
