SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF GUILLAUME ISABEL AND CATHERINE DAUDIER

"JEAN WAS BAPTIZED AT BROUAGE ON 23 MARCH 1636, THE LAST SON OF DENYS LEPELE AND OF JEANNE GIRARDEAU. THEREFORE HE WAS THIRTY YEARS OLD (NOT TWENTY AS LISTED IN THE CENSUS OF 1666), WHEN HE DECIDED TO TAKE A WIFE. HE HAD TIME TO GET WELL ACQUAINTED WITH JEANNE ISABEL WHO ALSO LIVED IN HIS BROTHER'S HOME. SHE WAS BAPTIZED AT TROIS-RIVIERES ON 20 OCTOBER 1650 AND HAD BARELY TIME TO KNOW HER OWN FATHER WHO WAS KILLED BY THE IROQUOIS IN THE ILL-FATED SORTIE OF 19 AUGUST 1652. JEAN LEPELE WAS BOTH BROTHER-IN-LAW AND SON-IN-LAW OF CATHERINE DODIER, WIFE OF PIERRE LEPELE."

'We don't know the exact date of death of Jeanne Isabel. It is known that she survived her husband by a few years. On 31 March 1713, she presented notary Normandin with a decision to give up her property to her heirs. On 21 July 1714, she was still living, as indicated in an act ratifying this release to her sons-in-law Martin Casaubon, Antoine Desrosiers dit Lafreniere, both living at Berthier, and Bernard Brisset, resident of Ile-Dupas.'
