The War of 1812 was a conflict between the United States and Great Britain, lasting from 1812 to 1815. 1857 - Dred Scott v. Sandford: The Supreme Court of the United States rules that Blacks are not citizens and slaves can not sue for freedom, driving the country further towards the American Civil War. (March 6)
