SETTLED FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS AT DOMBOURG, LEONARD MUST HAVE FOUND HIMSELF AMONG 'THE MOST PRUDENT' DESCRIBED BY MARIE DE L'INCARNATION BY CHOOSING MARIE DAMOYS. SHE HAD BARELY DEBARKED WHEN SHE WAS INVITED TO GO TO THE HOME OF THE NOTARY PIERRE DUQUET IN ORDER TO CONCLUDE A MARRIAGE CONTRACT. THIS WAS SIGNED ON 5 OCTOBER.
