Jacques  married  Marguerite JARRET dite BEAUREGARD 25 November 1748 in Verchères, Canada, New France .  Marguerite JARRET dite BEAUREGARD  was born 22 September 1728 in Verchères, Québec, Canada (Saint-François-Xavier-de-Vercheres).  Marguerite died 20 April 1752 in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada.  Marguerite was the child of Vincent JARRET dit BEAUREGARD and Catherine PINEAU (PINEAULT) dite LAPERLE.

Jacques  married  (2) Geneviève VIGEANT dite TAUPIER 20 November 1752 in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Canada, New France .  The couple had (at least) 2 children.
Geneviève VIGEANT dite TAUPIER  was born 13 July 1736 in Chambly, Québec, Canada (Saint-Joseph-de-Chambly).  Geneviève died 2 August 1777 in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada.  Geneviève was the child of Jean VIGEANT dit TAUPIER and Marie-Anne PERRIER dite OLIVIER.

Jacques  married  (3) Marie-Agnes MESSIER 24 January 1780 in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Province of Québec, Canada .  Marie-Agnes MESSIER  was born 5 August 1720 in Varennes, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Anne-de-Varennes).  Marie-Agnes died 24 October 1785 in Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, Québec, Canada.  Marie-Agnes was the child of René MESSIER and Marie-Madeleine GUILLET.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
