"After my grandmother Eva died, my grandfather Weeden took his three children to live in Hope town, Québec, which is on the Gaspé Peninsula. Later, when they were in their late teens and early 20s, my father and his two siblings moved from Québec to Niagara Falls, Ontario. My aunt Shirley, my father Gerald and my uncle Calvin all married in Niagara Falls and raised families there."

10-20-1944 Mrs. Weeden McWhirter, formerly Miss Eva Vaincourt, died at The Grace Dart Hospital, in Montreal Quebec. The deceased was born at Franklin Quebec, daughter of Mr. Joseph T. Vaincourt, and the late Mrs. Vaincourt. Fourteen years ago she was united in marriage with Mr. Weeden McWhirter and made her home in Montreal. She leaves to mourn, her husband, three children, Shirley, Gerald, and Calvin of Montreal, her father, Joseph Vaincourt of Franklin, three sisters, Bertha, Mrs. Charles Thompson of Southbridge MA, Rebecca, Mrs. Douglas McWhinnie of Ormstown, Marbury, Mrs. Ernest E. Charles, also of Ormstown, three brothers, Willard, Wilfred and Earle, of Franklin Quebec. Funeral services were held from Whites Funeral Parlor.
