The school has a faculty of seven and the most advanced equipment is being provided.

Invention The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' Initially used in commercial settings, microwaves becomes affordable for home use by the 1960s and 1970s, revolutionizing cooking.

Ed Bader, Elsmere Official, Dies

Ed C. Bader, 72, 4497 Maple Ave., Elsemere, died December 19 at his home. At the time of his death, he was the tax collector and treasurer of the City of Elsmere. Burial was Monday in Easthampton, Massachusetts.

Born in Southampton, Massachusetts, he attended local schools and was graduated from Northampton Commercial College in 1921. He was a veteran of World War I, having served in France as well as in the Massachusetts State Guard in the Mexican War.

He was married to the former Helen Sidnell Colwell of Covington for 44 years. For many years he was owner and president of the Curtis Commercial College, Covington, and later was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 18 years, retiring in 1961.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son, Edward C. Bader II, Walnut Creek, California; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Southworth, Hatboro, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Cynthia Schaser, Fort Mitchell; two brothers, George H., Covington; and Charles A.,...Read MORE...
