PRDH records show a baptism in 1655 in Quebec, QC, Canada of a child of Esther ? and Elie Godin. There is also a marriage of a child of Esther Ramage and Elie Godin in Quebec, QC, Canada in 1656. In 1666 and 1667, they are living in Montmorency County.

"Elie Godin died at Beaupre and was buried on 5 January 1672. His widow, Esther Ramage, made another marriage commitment to Mathruin Roy on 12 October 1676 but failed to go through with it. She died about 1695 after twelve years of ill health."

"Elie Godin (Gaudin) was born about 1612 in the diocese of Saintes, province of Saintonge. he was a sailor who met his wife, Marie Esther Ramage, in her home town, the port of La Rochelle in Aunis. They were married on 22 March 1639 in the Calvinist temple at La Rochelle where she was 24 years old. Their first two children were born in France."

'THE HISTORY OF ELIE GAUDIN AND HIS WIFE ESTHER RAMAGE, COUPLE FROM WHICH YOU DESCEND, IS INTERESTING AND IS IDENTIFIED WITH THAT OF THE BEGINNINGS OF THE PARISH OF SAINTE-ANNE-DE-BEAUPRÉ.

ABOUT FORTY YEARS AFTER THE FOUNDING OF QUÉBEC, A HUGONOT FAMILY, THAT OF GAUDIN, CAME TO SETTLE IN THE SEIGNEURIE OF BEAUPRÉ. ELIE GAUDIN AND HIS WIFE, ESTHER RAMAGE CONVERTED TO CATHOLICISM AND, THE PROVIDENCE WHICH HAD GUIDED THEM TO THESE SHORES, WANTED TO CONFIRM THE FAITH OF YOUR ANCESTORS BY PROVIDING FAVOURABLE SIGNS.

IN 1662, ESTHER RAMAGE, AGED 46, HAD SUFFERRED FOR 18 MONTHS OF A VERY PAINFULL SICKNESS. SHE WAS SO BENT BY THE PAIN THAT SHE COULD ONLY GET AROUND BY DRAGGING HERSELF WITH A CANE.
