PRDH has records of the baptisms of several of their children, the first one in Trois-Rivieres in 1650

"On 24 November 1647, Notary Flour Boujonnier (who died five years later in the disastrous expedition of Duplessis-Keebodot against the Iroquois) drew up a "contract of marriage which, God willing, will be made in the presence of our Holy Mother, the most Catholic, Roman and Apostolic Church, between Antoine Desrosiers, native of Bourg de Ranaison, in the vicinity of Lyon in France, and Anne du Herisson, a native of Bourg de Thierry in Normandy."

"Antoine actually married Anne Leneuf in 1649. Her father, in addition to being one of the largest landowners in New France, was also a commercial brewer."

Biography
DESROSIERS - nickname given to one whose house is decorated with roses. Or, nickname given to the individual from 'Les Rosiers', the name of several localities in France.

Antoine Desrosiers was baptized in 1620 in Noailly, Loire department. Son of Jean Desrosiers-Deronzier, he arrived in the country in 1641 and married Anne Leneuf, daughter of Michel Leneuf du Hérisson, in 1647 in Trois-Rivières. From their union were born 8 children. In 1651, his servant was killed by the Iroquois and he himself was taken prisoner by them in 1659. He managed to escape and returned to Trois-Rivières. In the census of 1681 he owns 8 firearms, 9 cattle and 40 acres of land in value. He then lived in Champlain, where he died in 1691.

Biography
French-Canadian pioneer Antoine Desrosiers was laid to rest on August 9th, 1691, at Champlain, Québec.

Antoine had arrived in New France as a master carpenter in the employ of the Jesuits (engagé des Jésuites). He later took on official positions as syndic and seigneurial judge.

With his wife Anne Leneuf du Hérisson he had eight children. Among their very numerous notable descendants are Céline Dion, Madonna and celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse.

Anne is often reported to be the daughter of Michel Leneuf (mother unknown), but there appears to be no documentary evidence of it. This is of interest to Antoine's descendants because Michel Leneuf is known to be of 'royal descent' through his mother Jeanne Lemarchand.

1691 Death
'The ancestor Desrosiers, covered with honors, was buried at Champlain on the 9th of August, 1691, at the age of about 72. As for Anne Leneuf, we don't know about her demise. We believe her to have been alive in Champlain in 1701 when 'the widow Desrosiers' gave a half minot of grain to the church, for the poor.'
