Jean-Joseph  married  Louise AUGER 18 February 1765 in Lotbinière, Province of Québec, Canada .  Louise AUGER  was born abt. 1740 in Québec Province, Canada (Quebec).  Louise died 6 November 1778 in Sainte-Croix, Lotbinière, Québec, Canada.  Louise was the child of Pierre AUGER and Marie-Therese RIVARD dite LAVIGNE.

Jean-Joseph  married  (2) Madeleine MARCOTTE 24 January 1780 in Cap-Santé, Province of Québec, Canada .  The couple had (at least) 1 child.
Madeleine MARCOTTE  was born 31 August 1756 in Cap-Santé, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Famille-du-Cap-Sante).  Madeleine died 20 July 1810 in Maskinongé, Québec, Canada (Saint-Joseph).  Madeleine was the child of Jean-Francois MARCOTTE and Therese MORISSET.

Jean-Joseph HAMEL died 19 July 1820 in Maskinongé, Lower Canada .
