He was born in Hartford, on July 12, 1924, the son of the late James M. and Maude (Cooley) Connery and lived in East Hartford for the last 50 years. James was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served as a medic and was a purple heart recipient; he was a retired plater with Aero-Hart & Hegeman.
