"North Adams, Sept. 16 - Miss Elizabeth Alice Tatro, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Tatro of 27 Wall St. and Robert C. Slade, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Slade of Stamford, Vt. are on a wedding trip to Cape Cod. They were married Saturday night at 7:30 in First Methodist Church by Rev. Elmer N. Haley. They will live in Springfield where Mr. Slade is a student at AIC."

"Mrs. Harold B. Tatro, Jr. of this city was matron of honor with Joan Davies and Miss Ruth Cummings as bridesmaids. Beveridge Phelps was best man. A reception at Masonic Temple was attended by about 250."

Deceased Name: Elizabeth Slade, 77 Native of North Adams

Thursday, November 15 Elizabeth 'Betty' (Tatro) Slade, 77, of Sandwich, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Cape Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born and raised in North Adams, she graduated from Drury High School in 1947 and attended Skidmore College in New York for a year.
While living in North Adams, she worked for her family-owned store, McCraw & Tatro.

Before moving to Sandwich, she had lived in western Massachusetts, Montpelier, Vt., and Peterborough, N.H.

She leaves two sons, R. Scott Slade and his wife, Celeste Porter Slade, of Deerfield, N.H., and Kenneth D. Slade of Peterborough; a daughter, E. Kimberley Fagnant and her husband, Walter T. Fagnant Jr. of East Sandwich; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Tatro of Carver; and a granddaughter, Sarah E. Fagnant of East Sandwich.

A brother, Harold B. Tatro Jr. is deceased.
