Deceased Name: Elizabeth Slade, 77 Native of North Adams

Thursday, November 15 Elizabeth "Betty" (Tatro) Slade, 77, of Sandwich, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Cape Heritage Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness.

Born and raised in North Adams, she graduated from Drury High School in 1947 and attended Skidmore College in New York for a year.
While living in North Adams, she worked for her family-owned store, McCraw & Tatro.

Before moving to Sandwich, she had lived in western Massachusetts, Montpelier, Vt., and Peterborough, N.H.

She leaves two sons, R. Scott Slade and his wife, Celeste Porter Slade, of Deerfield, N.H., and Kenneth D. Slade of Peterborough; a daughter, E. Kimberley Fagnant and her husband, Walter T. Fagnant Jr. of East Sandwich; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Tatro of Carver; and a granddaughter, Sarah E. Fagnant of East Sandwich.

A brother, Harold B. Tatro Jr. is deceased.

FUNERAL NOTICE — A memorial service for Elizabeth Slade in the funeral home will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 11 a.m., at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to "The Sunshine Fund" at Cape Heritage, 37 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA 02563.
