Biography
Sainte DUPONT — (ca 1596 - 1680)
French-Canadian pioneer and matriarch Sainte (Xainte) Dupont was laid to rest this day, July 15th, 1680, at Château-Richer, Québec.
Sainte had five children in France with husband Zacharie Cloutier before he emigrated to Québec with their eldest son (Zacharie). Sainte followed with the four younger children sometime later.
Although the dates of birth of Sainte and Zacharie are not known, both were long-lived. Sainte was well into her nineties when she died. She's known to have had a least one great-great-grandchild at the time of her passing: Louise Letartre (b. 23 Sept. 1679), who married François Brunet in 1695.
