WORCESTER - Edgar N. Bibeau, 78, of 14 Dennis Drive, formerly of Southbridge, a retired production manager, died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital after he was stricken ill at home.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Susan G. (Skinner) Bibeau; a son, Kenneth E. Bibeau of Worcester; two brothers, Roland A. Bibeau of Warren and George Bibeau of Dudley; a sister, Doris E. Allard of Wilmington; nephews and nieces. He was born in Southbridge, son of Joseph M. and Rose I. (Livernois) Bibeau, and also lived in Cambridge. He lived here 36 years. He graduated from Rindge Technical High School in Cambridge.

Mr. Bibeau was a production manager at Stafford Laboratories, where he worked for 23 years. He retired in 1983. He was previously a superintendent at American Optical Co. in Southbridge.

He was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a sergeant in the gilder division in Europe.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from Nordgren, Carrigan, Mangsen Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales St. Burial will be in Mount Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Calling hours are 5 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
