Mrs. Clara Slater (Matthews) Robb, 86, widow of Isaac Robb, sr., died at 10:45 p.m. Sunday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. Victor Grant of South Main street, where she had made her home since the death of her husband in November, 1926. She enjoyed good health until last January, and since that time she had been confined to her bed. For the past few days she had been unconscious and had failed rapidly. Mrs. Robb was born Feb. 2, 1848, in Duane, Franklin county, New York, one of a family of eight children of William Henry Matthews and Catherine (Slater) Matthews. She married in Malone, Oct. 8, 1866, Isaac Robb, who was a veteran of the Civil war. Mr. Robb was a well-known farmer in Guilford many years, and they made their home there until 1908, when they moved to West Brattleboro. Eight children were born; Justice Charles H. Robb of Washington, D. C.; Lucy, wife of George Root of Malden, Mass.; Dr. William M. Robb of Marlow, N. H.; Frank E. Robb of Pasadena, Calif.; Isaac M. Robb of West Brattleboro; Buell M. Robb, who died in 1913; J.Clinton Robb of Washington; Ida M., wife of C. Victor Grant of Brattleboro. She also leaves 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Robb was a member of the Woman's Relief corps. The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Grove Terrace, Rev. Donald B. F. Hoyt, pastor of All Souls church, officiated. The bearers were her sons, Isaac Robb, jr., and Clinton Robb, also Herman Robb and Edward Houghton. The body was taken to Greenfield, Mass., for burial in the family lot in Green River cemetery. Those from way who attended the funeral were Clinton Robb Washington, D. C., Mrs. George F. Root of Medford, Mass., and Dr. William Robb of Marlow, N. H., children of Mrs. Robb, also Donald and Buell Robb of Westfield, Mass.
