Lois Jeantte Carter August 24, 2008 Lois J. Carter, 76, of Newton Lake; Carbondale RD died Sunday at the Lackawanna County Healthcare Center. She was preceded in death by two husbands: Edward Francis Tell & Richard Carter. Born in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Myrell J. & Gladys Hadsell. She was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School, Carbondale. She was a homemaker. She returned to the area about thirty years ago from Maryland. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1028 & American Legion Post, both of Aberdeen, MD; a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Greenfield Twp Volunteer Fire Co. and a social member of the Moxie Club, Carbondale. In her later years she enjoyed watching game shows. She is survived by a daughter: Deborah Tell and her companion Bill Chambers, Aberdeen, MD; two nephews: Norman & Derwood Hadsell. She was preceded in death by a brother: Duane Hadsell. A gravesite service will be held Friday at 3 PM in the Willow View Cemetery, Clifford by the Rev. Donald Schaible, Rector of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Carbondale. Arrangements by the Oliver R Shifler Funeral Home, Inc. 62 N. Main St., Carbondale
