Frederick C Peach of Lenox Dies at 83

Frederick Coffin Peach, 83, of Lenox, long a prominent figure in the investment field in Berkshire County, died yesterday in a Lenox nursing home.

A native of Lynn, he entered the employ of Kidder-Peabody brokerage firm in Boston immediately after his graduation from Lynn Classical School. In 1915 he moved to Pittsfield and established the F. C. Peach Investment Co., which acted as correspondent for Kidder Peabody. He later also acted as agent for the G. M. P. Murphy, Reynolds and Co. and Goodbody Co.

He was an active member of the Unitarian Church and had been a member of the Unitarian League Council; belonged to the Sons of the American Revolution and the Military Order of the Loyal Legion. He was past president of Pittsfield Rotary Club and the Chamber of Commerce, was a director of the former Third National Bank and the Morris Plan Bank; was vice-president of the Berkshire County Tuberculosis Assn., was on the investment board of the Berkshire County Home for Aged Women, and had belonged to the Pittsfield Country Club.

He leaves his wife, the former Germaine Boilloux; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph Davis of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Mrs. James Fletcher of Denver, Col.; a son, Frederick B. of Wellesley; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. C. Fred Smith of Swampscott.
