Southbridge...Francis R. Martin, 85, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Harrington Memorial Hospital after an illness. He leaves his wife of 50yrs. Yvette P. (Bernard) Martin. They were married October 28, 1961 at St. Anne's Church. He is survived by a daughter Darleen (Martin ) Farland and her husband Paul of Sturbridge, and 2 sons Arthur Martin and his wife Amanda of Southbridge, and John Martin and his wife Heidi of Southbridge. He leaves 7 grandchildren Joshua Farland, Nathan Gonzalez, Nicholas Buccheri, Zachary Martin, TJ Lackings, Victoria Martin, and Hunter Martin, a great-grandson Alack Farr, and a sister Kathleen and her husband Arthur Levitsky of Roslindale. He was predeceased by 3 brothers Harold Bowman, John Bowman, and Henry Bowman.

Mr. Martin was born in Woods Hole, MA, son of Arthur J. and Hermina (Beaudreau) and lived here mostly lifelong.

For the past 50yrs. he and his wife have owned and operated Hospital Spa South St. Southbridge, which is in its 4th generation of ownership. He enjoyed fishing, spending time at his camp in Holland, reading the newspapers, sharing his knowledge of local history, and his long Sunday drives with his loving family. He was also an avid Red Sox fan.

The funeral will be Monday, August 13th, at 9:30AM from Sansoucy Funeral Home 40 Marcy St. Southbridge with a Mass at 11AM at St. Anne's Parish Center Chapel 16 Church St. Fiskdale. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery Paige Hill Rd. Southbridge, MA 01550. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, August 12th, from 5-7PM.
