Obituary



DOW - Emma Lucy Gibb, beloved wife of Mr. William Dow of 1122 7 St. N., passed away in the city on June 14 (NOTE: Cemetery record shows death date as June 11), at the age of 72 years.

Mrs. Dow was born in Lehi, Utah and came to Raymond in 1901 with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Gibb. In 1914 she married William Dow. They settled in the Magrath area until 1926. They moved to the Diamond City area the same year where Mr. Dow operated a farm until 1960 when they retired and moved into Lethbridge.

Besides her husband, William, she is survived by six sons, Leo, Berne, Gordon and Blaine all of Lethbridge, Richard of Montreal and Jack of Vancouver; seven daughters., Mrs. Lawrence (Wilma) Lawlor of Turin, Mrs. Ernie (Luzan) Redding and Mrs. William (Maxine) Campbell, both of Edmonton, Mrs. Kenneth (Joyce) Blair of Lethbridge, Melchin and Mrs. Gordon (June) Sivertsen both of Calgary and Mrs. Glen (Margaret) Rimmer of Banff; two brothers, Dave Gibb of Ellensburg, Wash, and George Gibb of Cardston; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Smith of Oardston; by 47 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
