CUMBERLAND Florence R. DeLauder, 84, of 300 Broadway, passed away Monday at home. Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late Philias and Marie (Mercier) Girouard. She was a life-long Pawtucket resident. Mrs. DeLauder was a Assistant Special Education Teacher, for the Fallon School of Pawtucket for 20 years, retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Blessed Pope John Paul II Parish of Pawtucket. Mrs. Delauder was one of the founding members of the first Free Healthcare Clinics for underprivileged families in Pawtucket, the Woodlawn Teen Center, as well as the Leon Mathieu Center. She was an active volunteer at the Haven Hill Nursing Center, now known as Pawtucket Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She leaves her son, David DeLauder and his spouse Susan of Cumberland; two daughters, Lorraine DeLauder and her spouse Faye Silverman of Pawtucket, and Marlene Lenartowicz and her spouse Walter Lenartowicz of Lincoln; one brother, Ernest Girouard of Cumberland, one sister, Albina Angeli of Pawtucket; five grandchildren, six great-granddaughters, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Wesley DeLauder. A celebration of her life will be held Thursday from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland with visiting hours from 4-8PM. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
