GRAND JURY WILL CONSIDER MURDER
Special Sitting Called in Suitcase Mystery - State Detective in Springfield for Robb's Car
"Cambridge, Sept. 17 - A special session of the Middlesex county grand jury has been summoned for tomorrow by Dist-Atty. Arthur K. Reading to consider the case of Dr. William M. Robb of Boston, charged with illegal surgery in connection with the death of Mrs Alice Wolschendorf of East Bridgewater, parts of whose body were found in two suitcases in the Merrimack river at Tyngsboro two weeks ago."
"Dr Robb, who returned from Philadelphia Friday and gave himself up, pleaded not guilty when arraigned in Lowell Saturday and was released on $8000 bail. Dr Dalva Swope of Brockton, charged with being an accessory before the fact, also pleaded not guilty and was admitted to bail. William F. Bownen of East Bridgewater, formerly Mrs Wolschendorf's employer, who took poison and slashed his throat with a razor yesterday, is said to be recovering at a Brockton hospital. He is guarded by a policeman, but has not been arrested."
Seeking Nurse
"The county authorities and state police tonight are concentrating on two lines of investigation in connection with the 'suitcase mystery.' A nurse who is said to have assisted in the alleged operation is being sought, and search is being made for a camp at which, it is believe, Mrs. Wolschendorf's body was dismembered and packed in suitcases. Discovery of this camp, according to state police, might lead to the finding of the missing head and other parts of the body, and the woman's clothing."
"It became known today that witnesses had informed the authorities that a woman's body lying on a stretcher in an automobile was seen by the roadside between Brockton and East Bridgewater sometime before the two suitcases were found in the river. According to this report two men wearing surgeon's aprons were seen to leave the automobile. Tonight the police intimated that they know the name of the man who owns a camp where the work of dismemberment may have been done."
"A large number of nurses have been questioned with the case, but all so far seen have been eliminated. The police express belief that the nurse who is said to have been present at the time of the alleged operation is now in New Hampshire."
