Joseph  married  Geneviève HOUDE 25 September 1780 in Berthierville, Province of Québec, Canada .  Geneviève HOUDE  was born 27 July 1755 in Berthierville, Québec, Canada (Berthier-en-Haut) (Ste-Genevieve-de-Berthier).  Geneviève died 19 January 1833 in Berthierville, Québec, Canada (Berthier-en-Haut) (Ste-Genevieve-de-Berthier).  Geneviève was the child of Nicolas HOUDE and Marie-Josephte-Genevieve DELAUNAY.

Joseph RIEL died 14 August 1797 in Lanoraie, Lower Canada .
