Marguerite TÉTREAU (TÉTREAULT)  was born 27 August 1708 in Verchères, Québec, Canada (Saint-François-Xavier-de-Vercheres).  Marguerite died 18 June 1733 in Verchères, Québec, Canada (Saint-François-Xavier-de-Vercheres).  Marguerite was the child of Jacques TÉTREAU (TÉTREAULT) and Marguerite BRUNET.

Francois  married  (2) Elisabeth JETTE 3 May 1734 in Contrecœur, Canada, New France .  Elisabeth JETTE  was born abt. 1701 in Québec Province, Canada (Quebec).  Elisabeth died 4 May 1740 in Contrecœur, Québec, Canada (Sainte-Trinité-de-Contrecoeur).  Elisabeth was the child of Louis-Charles JETTE and Marie-Elisabeth HANDGRAVE (ANDEGRAVE).

Francois  married  (3) Marguerite BRUNET dite LASABLONNIÈRE 23 April 1742 in Contrecœur, Canada, New France .  Marguerite BRUNET dite LASABLONNIÈRE  was born 17 October 1694 in Montréal, Québec, Canada (Sault-au-Récollet) (Côte-St-Michel) (Côte-St-Paul).  Marguerite was the child of Jean BRUNET dit LASABLONNIÈRE and Marie-Madeleine RICHAUME.

Francois BOURGAULT dit LACROIX died 12 July 1768 in Contrecœur, Province of Québec, Canada .

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
