Obituary
John Raymond Cross, one of Galen's most prominent young farmers, died at his home three miles south of this village at an early hour Tuesday morning, Feb 10, 1920, from pneumonia, at the age of thirty two years. Mr. Cross was a native of Galen and has spent all his life here with the exception of a year or two, which he spent in Colorado. On Jan. 21, 1914, he married Miss Florence M. Burt of this township, and they have since made their home on the farm where he died. Surviving are his wife, his parents, Supervisor and Mrs. Henry E. Cross and one sister, Mrs. Mary Durling, all of Clyde. Funeral services are to be held from his late home Friday afternoon at two o'clock under the auspices of Clyde Lodge No. 300, I. O. O. F., of which the deceased was an official member. Rev. S.S. Pratt of Canandaigua will be the officiating clergyman. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. (Clyde Times, Clyde, NY, 12 Feb 1920)
