François-Joseph LAFOND  was born 13 February 1728 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Québec, Canada (Saint-Antoine-de-la-Baie-du-Febvre).  François-Joseph died 26 February 1792 in Saint-François-du-Lac, Québec, Canada.  François-Joseph was the child of Pierre LAFOND and Marie-Jeanne LEFEBVRE dite DESCÔTEAUX.

Josephte  married  (2) Claude HOUDE 19 August 1794 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Lower Canada .  Claude HOUDE  was born 19 October 1723 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Québec, Canada (Saint-Antoine-de-la-Baie-du-Febvre).  Claude died 18 February 1799 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Québec, Canada (Saint-Antoine-de-la-Baie-du-Febvre).  Claude was the child of Gabriel HOUDE dit DESRUISSEAUX and Marie-Jeanne PETITCLERC.

Josephte  married  (3) Gabriel ROBIDAS dit MANSEAU 24 September 1799 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Lower Canada .  Gabriel ROBIDAS dit MANSEAU  was born 1 November 1738 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Québec, Canada (Saint-Antoine-de-la-Baie-du-Febvre).  Gabriel died 16 May 1818 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Québec, Canada (Saint-Antoine-de-la-Baie-du-Febvre).  Gabriel was the child of Gabriel ROBIDAS dit MANSEAU and Marguerite CONSTANTINEAU.

Josephte DESROCHERS dite LAFRENIÈRE died 27 September 1802 in Baie-du-Fèbvre, Lower Canada .

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
