Benjamin Thomas Sweeny, 35, passed away suddenly on August 11, 2014 in Burke, Virginia.



It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of a man so full of love. His greatest joy was as a father to his daughter and as an uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Ben was known for being thoughtful and loving.



He jumped at any opportunity to hold or comfort his baby brothers and sister when they were little, and was always the brother who wanted to share and make others happy by giving of himself. Ben was born and raised in Bloomington, Indiana. He was fun-loving, liked being around people, and enjoyed the outdoors and being in nature. He was a gifted photographer and was often found hiking the Appalachian Trail, barbequing with friends, or camping in the beautiful woods of Virginia.
