Obituary
Longmeadow – Thomas J. Costello III, 71 died peacefully at home Monday afternoon surrounded by his loving family. Thomas was born and raised in Springfield, son of the late Thomas and Olive (O’Brien) Costello Jr. He has lived in Longmeadow since 1979. He owned Elevator Service Repair for many years and later became a State Elevator Inspector, Technical Code Coordinator and Acting Chief of Inspections for the State of Massachusetts. He served as a Lance Corporal for the United States Marines during the Vietnam War and belonged to the V.F.W. and D.A.V. He leaves his best friend and loving wife Joanne (LaFave) Costello; three devoted sons Thomas, Daniel, and David and his wife Nicole; two sisters Darby and husband Stephen Frank, Cris Costello; a brother Brian Costello; and his pride and joy, his grandchildren Bella, Nolan, and Philip Costello.
