Claude DUGAS was the child of Abraham DUGAS and Madeleine Marie LANDRY

Famille Dugas.

Claude Dugas, naquit à Port-Royal, le 14 janvier 1710; il était le fils d'Abraham Dugas et de Madeleine Landry. Il s'était marié à Annapolis Royal le 29 mai 1731 avec Josephte Melançon; il mourut le 3 septembre 1792, et sa femme, le 19 octobre 1793, à St. Jacques l'Achigan, Co. de Montcalm, P. Q.

De leur union, naquit plusieurs enfants: Marie, le 21 aôut 1732, à Annapolis Royal; Osethe, le 18 décembre 1734, et se maria à Chas. Belliveau, le 20 janvier 1755, à Annapolis. Les deux époux et leurs enfants étaient à Sturbridge, en mai 1757; la mère mourut à St. Jacques le 20 janvier 1820.

Marguerite est née le 21 juillet 1737, et elle épousa en 1766, dans
la Nouvelle Angleterre, Armand Bourgeois; elle aussi mourut
à St. Jacques l'Achigan. Madeleine, naquit le 16 novembre 1739; elle était infirme, et elle épousa dans nos parages, Joseph Leblanc, et mourut dans la même paroisse que les autres. Charles, vit le jour le 24 janvier 1743.

Cécile, qui était idiote, naquit le 30 janvier 1746, et mourut sans
avoir contracté mariage, le 9 juillet 1825 à St. Jacques. Anne, née le 16 avril 1749, épousa Joseph Richard, le 4 février 1771 et mourut le 4 novembre 1828 au Canada. Félécité, née le 26 février 1752, epousa François Forest, le 21 octobre 1771, et mourut le 21 mars 1787 à St. Jacques. Daniel, naquit à Sturbridge, Mass., 6 octobre 1760, épousa le 13 août 1782, M. Louise Vaillant de l'Assomption, P. Q., et
mourut le 4 juin 1838, à St. Jacques. Joseph, naquit en 1755 à Annapolis Royal et il épousa le 8 janvier 1776, Marie Madeleine Vaillant et mourut au même endroit que les autres.

'Claude Dugas and his wife received an order to live in Sturbridge, but their children would be separated from them; Marguerite, Madeleine and Felecite were sent to Oxford. The two other daughters; Elizabeth (Cecile) and Hannah (Anne) were sent to Dudley, while the two sons, Charles and Joseph, left for Charlton. Charles Belliveau (Claude's son-in law) and his wife and their young children received an order to go to Leicester, but the second child was sent to Spencer. In the spring or summer of 1767, however despite anguish and misfortune, Claude Dugas succeeded in reaching the Province of Quebec with the whole family, except for Charles.'
