"Pittsfield, Feb 21 - Mrs. David J. Gimlich of 190 Pomeroy avenue announced today the engagement of her daughter, Miss Marion R. Gimlich to W. Addison Roberts, son of Mrs Wallace S. Roberts, 23 East Housatonic street. Miss Gimlich was graduated from Miss Mills's School for Girls and Pittsfield public schools and is now with the Berkshire Mutual Fire Insurance company. Mr Roberts was graduated from Woodstown high school and attended Cornell. He is now special agent for the Berkshire Mutual Fire company."

Special Dispatch to the Sunday Union and Republican

"Pittsfield, June 10 - Miss Marion R. Gimlich, daughter of Mrs David J Gimlich of Pittsfield was married this afternoon to W. Addison Roberts, son of Mrs Wallace S. Roberts also of Pittsfield. The ceremony which took place at the home of Mrs Thomas L. Lawlor of 58 Reed street, Agawam, sister of the bride, was performed by Rev Paul L. Sturges of the First Baptist church, Pittsfield."

"The bride's gown was of white tulle, empress style, with a finger-tip veil and a wrath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white daisies. Her only attendant, Mrs Richard S. Woodruff of Pittsfield wore a gown of shell-pink mousseline de soie with a coronet of blue corn flowers. Her bouquet was of corn flowers and pink roses."

"Decorations for the ceremony were of spring flowers. The bride's traveling costume is a print dress of navy blue with matching accessories. Following an unannounced wedding trip, the couple will be at home at 23 Housatonic street, Pittsfield after July 1."

ALTON Miss Esther H: Davison, daughter of John F Davison Of 38 Oak Street, was married , this afternoon, to W. Addison Roberts, son bf Mrs. Wallace S. Roberts of 23 East Housatonic Street Pittsfield. The ceremony took place at 2 at the Ridgefleld (Conn.) Methodist Church which was decorated with white snapdragons and babysbreath. Rev. John Crayton officiated. Escorted, by her father, the bride had her cousin, Miss Marjorie Bowterman of Pittsfield, a maid, of honor, John F. Davison Jr., the brides brother, was best man. The bride wore a floor-length gown of toast lace with cap sleeves peplum and full skirts and a toast horsehair picture hat, trimmed with ? nylon net. She carried a Colonial bouquet of yellow roses and orchid sweet peas. Miss Bowerman was dressed in a mauve ankle-length gown with lace bodice, cap sleeves and crepe skirt; and a sugar ? picture hat with navy nylon net trim. Her Colonial bouquet was of pink roses and blue sweet peas.

To Live In Syracuse N.Y.
The couple left on a trip to New York and Washington, D.C.. after a reception at the Hearthstone Outpost Inn in Ridgefield. They will be at home at 15 Centennial Drive, Syracuse, N.Y., after June. The bride graduated from the Fannie A. Smith School In Bridgeport, Conn., and has been employed by the Berkshire Mutual Fire Insurance Company. Mr. Roberts was educated at Cornell University and Bryant Stratton Business College in Boston. He is a special agent for the Merrimack Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Andover.

'ALBANY -- W. Addison Roberts, 84, of Court Drive, Greenville, died Sunday at Albany Medical Center.

He was a longtime agent with Aetna Insurance before retiring in 1989. He served on the Claverack school board for several years prior to consolidation with Hudson. He was elected to two four-year terms on the Hudson school board and served two terms as president. He joined the First Presbyterian Church in 1950 and was active as a deacon and trustee, finally serving as treasurer for 18 years.

He was most recently of the First Reformed Church, Hudson.

He was a 40-year member and a past president of the Hudson Rotary, a member of the Columbia Golf and Country Club, and a Paul Harris Fellow Member. He was also a former resident of Claverack.

Survivors include his wife, Esther (Davison) Roberts; a daughter, Ellen Hammond of...Read MORE...
