Obituary
SIMONS, Shirley B. Shirley B. Simons, 82, a longtime resident of Enfield and formerly of Hartford and West Hartford, entered into her eternal rest on Thursday, (August 6, 2009) at Baystate Medical Center. Born on July 22, 1927, in Hartford, Shirley was the daughter of the late Grace May Blessing and was raised by her mother, grandparents and aunt. Shirley graduated from Bulkeley High School in Hartford, Class of 1945. She met her late husband Mabery and together they shared 59 years of marriage. A beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed taking care of her family. In her leisure time, she loved quilting and knitting. She is survived by her children, Scott C. Simons and his wife Arleen of Somers, Susan Anderson and her husband Donald of East Windsor, and Gene Simons and his wife Sonya of Hamburg, PA; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and her goddaughter, Karen Barrie of Florida.
