Paul  married  (2) Marguerite LESIEGE 1 July 1743 in Lavaltrie, Canada, New France .  Marguerite LESIEGE  was born 24 February 1720 in Saint-Sulpice, Québec, Canada.  Marguerite was the child of Etienne LESIEGE and Marie-Françoise BERGERON.

Paul  married  (3) Angélique DESROSIERS dite LAFRENIÈRE 23 August 1746 in Québec Province, Canada .  Angélique DESROSIERS dite LAFRENIÈRE  was born 3 March 1725 in Sorel, Québec, Canada (Saint-Pierre).  Angélique was the child of Antoine DESROSIERS dit LAFRENIÈRE and Angélique PIETTE (PIET) dite TREMPE.

Paul  married  (4) Marie-Josephe LESAGE 14 August 1780 in Saint-Sulpice, Province of Québec, Canada .  Marie-Josephe LESAGE  was born 14 August 1723 in Louiseville, Québec, Canada (Saint-Antoine-de-la-Rivière-du-Loup).  Marie-Josephe died 24 November 1798 in Saint-Cuthbert, Québec, Canada.  Marie-Josephe was the child of Jean-Baptiste LESAGE and Marie-Josephe GERLAISE.

Did You Know? Québec Généalogie - What is a 'dit/dite' name?  When the first settlers came to Québec from France it was a custom to add a 'dit' nickname to the surname. The English translation of 'dit' is 'said'. The Colonists of Nouvelle France added 'dit' names as distinguishers. A settler might have wanted to differentiate their family from their siblings by taking a 'dit' name that described the locale to which they had relocated. The acquiring of a 'dit' name might also be the result of a casual adoption, whereby the person wanted to honor the family who had raised them. Another reason was also to distinguish themselves by taking as a 'dit' name the town or village in France from which they originated. This custom ended around 1900 when people began using only one name, either the 'dit' nickname or their original surname.
