Stephen P. Marceau

SKANDIA – Stephen P. Marceau, 66, of 168 Boyer Road, Skandia, entered eternal life Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2009, at Marquette General Hospital. Steve was born August 5, 1942, in Marquette, a son of Albert and Winifred (Milldende) Marceau, and was a lifelong Skandia-West Branch area resident. He was employed at various local sawmills for the past 30 years, most recently operating a debarker machine. Stephen enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed cutting wood and processing scrap metal. Survivors include his girlfriend of 18 years, Charlotte Jackson of Skandia; his daughters, Laurie (Thomas) Daugherty of Skandia and Trish (Charles) Jordan of K.I. Sawyer; his sons, Terry (Lisa) Perkins of K.I. Sawyer and Richard (Laura) Koski of Phoenix, AZ; his grandchildren, Jeremy Brugman, Cassandra Brugman, Beth Brown, Thomas Daugherty Jr, Casey Daugherty, Christine (Eric) Ouelette, Jessica Jordan, and Bruce Jordan; several great-grandchildren; a sister, JoAnn (Sonny) Bruegeman of Genesee, ID; brothers, Donald Marceau of Milwaukee, WI, Robert (Addie) Marceau, Eugene (Carol) Marceau, and Douglas (Rose) Marceau all of Marquette, and David (Sheri) Marceau of Yuma, AZ; a sister-in-law, Karen Marceau of Marquette; brother-in-law, Leslie (Mickey) Waline of Champion; special close nephews, Blaine (Candy) Marceau and Jeff (Terri) Marceau of Marquette; two nieces, Jill Baker of Marquette and Carla Smith of Brainerd, MN; and many other nieces and nephews; and his special canine companions, Daisy and Bear. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Marceau Zintman and Wanda Marceau Gustafson; and a brother, Keith Marceau. Friends may call at the Fassbender Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 7:00 pm Thursday evening with Rev. David Mair officiating. Burial will be made in the West Branch Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Koski, Terry Perkins, Blaine and Jeff Marceau, Tom, Scott, and Chuck Daugherty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in care of the family at P.O. Box 111, Skandia, MI 49885.
