Obituary

Armand Vigneault, 81, formerly of Ansonia, Conn., died July 10, 2005, at a Manchester hospital.Born Sept. 4, 1923, in Madison, Maine, he was a son of Philip and Odelie Vigneault. He was educated in Madison schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had been an active member of the American Legion in Derby, Conn.Mr. Vigneault was a retired 35-year employee of Avco-Lycoming in Connecticut.He enjoyed fishing and crabbing, boating and traveling in his RV. A technical reader, he was good with his hands and loved fixing things.His first wife, Henrietta Manco Vigneault, died in 1973, and a son, Ronald p. Vigneault, died in 1989. A brother, Edmund Vigneault, also predeceased him.Members of his family include his wife of more than 30 years, Gertrude (Grimmer) Vigneault of Bedford; his children, Kathie Vigneault Davis and her husband, Lin, of Placentia, Calif.; Lissa J. Foote and her husband, William, of Bedford; Kathleen E. Solomon and her husband, William, of Hinsdale, Judith E. Florczak of Munster, Ind.; Gertrude J. Anderson and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Conn., and Max R. Kuziak and his wife, Ruth, of Windsor, Conn.; 28 grandchildren, including his two biological grandchildren, Jeremy and Jessica Vigneault-Guttenplan, and Sherrie, Kristie, Stephanie and Stacie Foote, with whom he made his home; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Delma Poston of St. Petersburg, Fla.; two brothers, Louis Vigneault of Wiscasset, Maine, and Ernest Vigneault of Madison, Maine; nieces and nephews.A prayer service was held on July 13 in the Goodwin Funeral Home, Manchester, officiated by the Rev. Charles Blauvelt, rector of Grace Episcopal Church, and the Rev. Donald Littlefield, pastor of Shiloh Christian Fellowship. Burial took place in Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby, Conn.Donations may be made to a Christian organization of one’s choice.
