Matthew A. Palumbo, 55, of 25 Wallis Ave., retired parts manager at Tasca Ford Co. of Seekonk, died Sunday after being stricken at home. He was the husband of Rita (Varone) Palumbo.
Mr. Palumbo worked for the car dealership 23 years, retiring in 1977.
Born in Bristol, the son of Leonard Palumbo and the late Gaetana (Pimetzi) Palumbo, he had lived in Barrington the last 26 years and prior to that in Bristol. He was a member of the Cup Defender's Association of Bristol, the Hampton Meadows Volunteer Fire Department and the Italo-American Club of Warren. Mr. Palumbo was a communicant of St. Alexander's Church, Warren.
Besides his wife and father he leaves a brother, Frank Palumbo of Bristol; five sisters, Phyllis Barboza of Seekonk; Mary DiPoala of Deltona, Fla.; Antoinette Amaral of Warren, and Virginia Sousa and Anna Oliver of Bristol.
The funeral will be tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Sansone Funeral Home, 192 Wood St., Bristol, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. at St. Alexander's Church, Main Street, Warren. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bristol.
