Obituary

John Edward Dalfrey, age 68, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at 5:25 a.m. at his residence in Leonville.
Interment in St. Leo the Great Mausoleum in Leonville. The Rev. Ken Domingue, pastor of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church in Leonville, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Dalfrey was a native and lifelong resident of Leonville. He was a school teacher in the St. Landry Parish School System for over 34 years. He had been a parishioner of St. Leo The Great Catholic Church in Leonville and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus #4023. Mr. Dalfrey was a member of the Lucky 13 Hunting Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Moreau Dalfrey of Leonville; one daughter, Ericka D. Buckner and her husband, Rolland, of Opelousas; one brother, David Lloyd Dalfrey and his wife, Jeanelle, of Gainesville, VA; one sister, Marie Lanclos and her husband, Robert A., of Leonville; nieces and nephews, Michael and Kevin Lanclos of Leonville, Christinea Collora of Purcellville, Virginia, Karen and Kathy Dalfrey of Bristow, Virginia, and Stephanie Choate of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Lee Dalfrey and the former Sibyl Marie Moreau; and one brother, Francis Charles Dalfrey.
Melancon Funeral Home of Opelousas, 4708 I-49 North Service Road, (337) 407-1907, is in charge of arrangements.
