WELLESLEY - Edward "Ego" Crowley, 72, ...formerly of Worcester, a business executive, died Sunday at home of cancer.
He leaves his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth (Coe) Crowley; a son, a daughter, a brother, three sisters, nephews and nieces.
Born in Worcester, son of Edward D. and Kathleen L. (Donnelly) Crowley, he lived many years in Wellesley Hills. He graduated from New York Military Academy and attended Boston University.
A World War II Army veteran, he served in the Pacific, including the Philippines, and served with the Office of Strategic Services.
Mr. Crowley was president of Crowley Beverage Corp. in Wayland and former president of Polar Corp. in Worcester.
He was a board member and past president of the Massachusetts Bottlers Association, a board director of the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester and a corporator of the Worcester Horticultural Society center at Tower Hill in Boylston. He was a member of the American Antiquarian Society.
Mr. Crowley was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church and the Worcester Club. He played tennis and collected antique clocks. He grew orchids and was a member of the American Orchid Society.
The funeral service will be ... in All Saints Episcopal Church, 10 Irving St. Worcester. After cremation, burial will be at the family's convenience in Rural Cemetery, Worcester. ...
