Obituary

Earl Schenck SCHENCK, EARL F., age 86, died Saturday, August 4, 2012 at RI Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Eileen M. (Martin) Schenck. Born in Smithfield, RI he was the son of the late Adolph E. and Lillian M. (Plante) Schenck. He was a 1943 graduate of LaSalle Academy, a 1949 graduate of Bryant College, and a resident of Cranston for the last 52 years. Earl was a salesman with the American Automobile Association (AAA) for 20 years, retiring in 1994. He was a WWII Army veteran, and also served as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector and Cantor at St. Matthew's Church. He was the devoted father of Karen M. Harris of Cos Cob, CT, Colleen A. Schenck of Worcester, MA, Joanne E. Schenck of Cranston and Carolyn M. and her husband John Higgins of Cranston; and loving grandfather to David J. and his wife Kelly Harris, Christopher J. Harris, Lauren K. and Allison J. Higgins. He was the brother of the late Donald E. Schenck. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 9:45 am from the Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am in St. Matthew Church, Elmwood Ave., Cranston. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm.
