Deceased Name: Mae G. Steidler
Mae G. (Barnes) Steidler, 87, of 15 Nutting Ave., died Sunday at home. She worked at Cooley Dickinson Hospital, retiring in 1977. Previously, she was a machine operator at the former Pro Brush Shop in the Florence section, worked in hosiery department at the former McCallum's Department Store and in housekeeping at Smith College. Born and educated here, she was a lifelong resident and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Her husband, David Steidler, died in 1963. She leaves two daughters, Shirley Rodgers and Irene Steidler, both of Northampton; three sisters, Irene Moriarty of Holyoke, Norma Wellner of Butler, Pa., and Helen Fleury of South Hadley; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at O'Connell Funeral Home and the church, with burial in Spring Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are this afternoon and evening.
