Tatroe, Mrs. Harriet, Route 1, St. Charles, Michigan
Widow of John Tatroe passed away at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital after a lingering illness. Age 71 years. She formerly resided at 2552 Benjamin Street, until several years ago, when she moved to St. Charles to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Marvin Boshaw. Harriet Elwell was born Feb. 5, 1886. In October 1898 she was married to Mr. Tatroe in Caro. They moved to Saginaw 51 years ago. He passed away April 23, 1951. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church. Surviving are two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Mervin Boshaw; Charles Tatroe, both of St. Charles, Mrs. Claud Hutchinson, Cass City, Melvin and Walter E. Tatroe, both of Saginaw, 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. A grandson, Merlyn Boshaw, was killed in the Korean War, Dec. 20, 1950. She also leaves one brother, Roland Elwell, Red River, Canada. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Nazarene Church. Rev. H. T. Stanley will officiate with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gugel Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Friday, and at the church from Friday noon until time of service.
